David is an experienced contract negotiator and litigator who also counsels his clients on fiduciary duties, internal audits and investigations, and in formulating compliance policies and procedures.  He is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts in New York and in federal courts in Florida, Washington D.C., and Ohio. David regularly advises his clients on all aspects of matters concerning employment and employee benefits laws, health care law and regulations, government relations, administrative proceedings and regulations, privacy law, governance policies, trade secrets and intellectual property protection, and other issues. He is the author of numerous articles and newsletters. 
    
David received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and served on the Board of Directors of its Alumni Association from 2007 to 2013.  He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law.  

Previously David worked as an attorney for the National Basketball Players Association, where he represented NBA players in matters including collective bargaining and licensing agreement negotiations, contract arbitration, intellectual property disputes, and player-agent proceedings.


From 2009 to 2016 David served on the Board of Directors of Chashama, Inc., a not for profit corporation which converts commercial real estate in New York City for use by artists as work, display, and performance spaces in partnership with landowners, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.  He was Chairman of its Board of Directors from 2013 to 2016.   In 2018 David was elected to the Board of The National Arts Club, a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1898 in New York City to promote education and programs in the arts nationwide.  As Vice President of the NAC’s Board and its Conflicts and Compliance Officer, David  oversees its governance and compensation policies, management of its real estate and investment portfolio, and its compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.  He also chairs the NAC’s Board Nominations Committee and its Kesselring Prize for Playwriting Committee, which administers a restricted endowment fund that annually awards a $25,000 prize and residency at the NAC’s studio and apartment building adjacent to Gramercy Park to a promising, but not yet nationally recognized, American playwright.

Joel is a nationally recognized labor lawyer who is a Past President of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, past Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section, and a former Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at New York Law School.  He is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and before nine (9) federal appellate courts throughout the United States.  He represents and advises clients on labor laws, government investigations, collective bargaining, and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.


Joel received his bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and an LL.B. and Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law.  He has been named a Super Lawyer in the field of Labor and Employment Law for the New York area every year since 2010.  He is also a member of the New York State Bar Foundation, the Maritime Law Association, and the American and New York State Bar Associations.

James is an experienced intellectual property attorney who specializes in negotiating and implementing licensing contracts and other commercial agreements for multinational manufacturing companies operating in Europe, Asia, and the US. He is a member of the New York Bar and previously worked for the law firm Baker and McKenzie's Taipei, Taiwan office. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a J.D-M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
